Last week when we were in DC, the kids had their first experience at Arlingtion National Cemetery. I spent most of the time stressing over the repeated signs that demanded quiet and respect. If you know Ty, you know why.
I would also recommend visiting on a day that is less than 100 degrees.
Surprisingly, Ty survived the changing of the guard ceremony without getting us kicked out.
Then we moved on to more kid-friendly activities like visiting the giant elephant, dinosaurs, and butterfly garden.
We found a great place to park for the metro and I found out I can survive with the two little kids on the metro during rush hour. I win!
oh hai! this is laura, debbi's friend. As a daughter/granddaughter/neice/cousin/friend to vets, I really appreciate you being mindful of the sacredness of Arlington Cemetery. It's AMAZING to me how many parents let their kids run around like it's a playground when it SO isn't. I had to yell at my friends once when we were at the American Cemetery at Normandy France because they were screaming and laughing at soldier's “funny names.” Anyways THANK YOU!
I've just stopped hyperventilating. Are you on crack???? Oh wait, this is all the Melissa I know and love!
