And then there were none SIXTEEN!

Yup, sixteen (as best we can count), new, baby fish in our tank.  This is actually the second time we’ve managed to bring home a pregnant Molly.

The first time I didn’t even know fish could be pregnant.

The first time we also didn’t know that mommy Mollies eat their babies if you don’t remove them.

The first time 2 “survivors” got to be big enough to not be food but pets.  Those 2 fish stuck around long after our original died.  The dealfinder in me loves that we got a 3-for-1 deal 🙂

This time, we got smart (or so we think).  We created a makeshift fish nursery for 9 of the babies.  Six are on their own because I didn’t have time patience to catch more and because I thought it would be a neat “science fair project” to see which set ends up with more survivors.

I would love to bring home a pregnant one! we are never that lucky. We ask for one that could be pregnant and we get a non-pregnant one. Oh well… now we have two fair gold fish who are living longer than we ever thought they would.
