We were even elligible for ads because our community of readers has become much wider than our original friends and family base.  Did you know we have over 200 different people visiting every day?  I know most of us don’t need another internet time vacuum.  But I’m a people person, curious, and downright nosey, and I’d love to know who you are.  Blogging is no longer a one way conversation. You’ll notice a gray box on the right that says “The Corkboard by Blog Frog.”  You can click the button that says “Visit My Community” to introduce yourself, find out who you’re reading with, and contribute to community conversations.  Happy chatting!

Milestones and Precious Moments https://www.thecorkboardonline.com/2009/07/milestones-and-precious-moments/ https://www.thecorkboardonline.com/2009/07/milestones-and-precious-moments/#comments Sat, 25 Jul 2009 05:00:22 +0000 http://www.thecorkums.com/?p=613 It has been a week of milestones for us.

Mia had preschool camp at Redeemer all week in the mornings.  It’s been a great time to spend quality time with the boys.  Monday we ventured out to an outdoor, enclosed roller hockey rink to practice riding bikes.  I’ve been working with PJ a couple times here and there but he discouraged easily and it’s been hard to find time since Ty came home.  He’s got great balance so it was only a matter of time before we just figured it out and rode away.  And that’s just what happened Monday morning.  After literally 5 minutes on the bike that went something like–2 minutes biking…15 minutes scootering (is that word?)…2 minute water bike…3 minutes biking—he just rode away and hasn’t looked back.  He even mastered getting himself started.  The only bummer?…I didn’t have my camera.  And I still haven’t gotten footage or still pictures of him biking. I know…bad mama.

In other news, Ty made huge potty-training steps this week.  He’s been peeing-on-demand for a while now but I’ve been really lazy about being consistent.  This week, he finally made the connection–pee=treat*.  And, more importantly, lots of peeing=lots of treats.  The other night, he peed every 3 minutes (or as long as it took for him to finish the previous treat).  I hope our dentist or hygienist aren’t reading, but, hey, you have to start somewhere.  Ty was also dry through the night for the first time ever!

I guess I can’t leave out Mia.  She’ll be our precious moment.

Mia:  Mom, I’m so glad we have Ty. (Spoken on the way to camp while Ty was whining and crying and generally driving me nuts from the backseat.)

Melissa thinks,  “I’m glad YOU are,” but says: Me, too.

Mia:  He’s the best brother ever.

Melissa:  But what about PJ?

Mia:  He is too.

I guess we’re still working on understanding “best.”

Melissa:  You’re a pretty blessed little girl.

And that’s the best answer I can give to the often asked question…”How are the other two adjusting?”

Oh, and speaking of milestones…

The Blogfrog who provides the cool community widget on the left sidebar of our blog, just launched a cool, new website.  You can check it out here.  Speaking of that cool widget, did you know all you cool blog readers out there can converse at our Blogfrog forum to talk about the weather, O’s, kids, triathlons, photography…the possibilities are really endless?  Well, now you know.
