and The Question) and a set of CC Timeline cards made up the majority of my Christmas loot. Remember this timeline project? I had good intentions and was able to keep it up for the majority of last school year and the beginning of this one. However, the kids didn’t really get it or use it and the bottom cards are being destroyed from hanging within hands’ reach of the kids.
I was tempted to give up the timeline thing all together, but had a brainstorm for one more go of it.
Enter our timeline binders.
I put each set of timeline cards in a binder. Each card is in a sheet protector.
Next, I printed out the copywork sheets* I made for our history sentences and folded them in half for perfect little timeline inserts. I stuck these in the binders behind the appropriate timeline card.
Once I integrate all 3 cycles of history, the kids will have convenient, compact timeline books they can peruse that integrate the timeline and history sentences. I’m hoping it helps my visual (and other) learners to better understand (and appreciate) how all that history fits together.
