Thu, 16 Aug 2012 04:36:48 +0000http://www.thecorkums.com/?p=3252#comment-1317I have been searching on how to make CC work for my older children who have already gone through this part of history and geography and are too old for simple lapbooks. You have been an answer to prayer as far as showing me what to look for in order to put meat on the CC bones. THANK YOU!!

Thu, 12 Jul 2012 17:40:34 +0000http://www.thecorkums.com/?p=3252#comment-1090Thank you for sharing your ideas. One of the ways we will memorize The Classification of Living Things is to look at the chart which shows the upside down triangle listing Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, Species. We will sing these words starting with the note “C” and go down one note as we sing each word. As we sing, we will spread out our hands like the top corners of the triangle and bring our hands a little closer together as we say each new word in descending order. After the word Species we will clap, then start our song over again. We will begin by singing slowly and each time we repeat the song, we’ll get faster and faster and see how fast we can go! I hope this explanation makes sense.
