Which do you want first…?

The Bad News?

Ty has still not been issued a visa.  I’ll continue to stalk DC’s visa call center…

Or the Good News?

We got an update today on Ty.  It’s dated January but that’s been the average turn around time.  He’s doing well and it gave us a picture of his personality and schedule.  I can’t wait to sit down with his FM and get the rest of the details.  Speaking of which, what questions would you ask her if you were me?   Feel free to leave a comment with your question(s).

  1. Melissa,
Keep in mind, these are issues that you will probably want to use BEFORE you have him get with your routine. He is going to be grieving and disoriented especially by the time, your smell and language. Maybe you should cook Korean food or go to a Korean restaurant before you pick him up. Americans smell different. He will notice this.

Here’s a few questions I wished I could have asked:

    1. What is his sleep routine….pacifier?….special music?…..rocking? bottle?
What about crying to go to sleep? How long?

2.What does he eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner and times this is done?

    3. Does he have a milk intolerence? What soy milk are you using?

    4. What sets him off? Does he have a temperment that makes him go balistic if he doesn’t get his way?

    5. Has he ever ridden in a car? Believe me this can scare him. Carseat use? The babies even hate this at first. Also if he has not been in a car, he may cry out of fear or he could be carsick and not be able to tell you.

6.Has he ever been disciplined and how?

7.This is a big one–Does he transition well?

8.How do they potty train and is he signaling you and what is that signal or word?

If I think of more I’ll let you know.

    Pam
