{Review} Dove Conditioner

I was a little dumfounded when Mia’s hair turned curly on her first birthday.  I probably shouldn’t have been since Patrick has curly hair.  I think I was more surprised because it wasn’t curly during her first year of life and then…BAM.  For a couple years, I struggled to keep it looking cute and curly and not like a ratty bird nest.  Then I was doing some reading and decided to have her go to c0-washing only.  This means washing with only conditioner.  Crazy, huh?  I was a little skeptical at first, but she’s been shampoo-free for over 2 years now.  Her hair doesn’t look greasy or dirty but shiny, healthy, and less frizzy with more defined curls.

Needless to say, we go through a lot of conditioner. How convenient when BlogHer offered me a bottle of Nourishing Oil Care Conditioner.  Dove advanced conditioners provide nourishment (which is key) to repair dry and rough hair.  Patented Micromoisture Serum targets damage, repairing the surface of hair by sealing lifted cuticles.

While I wish this conditioner was sulfate free, there is only one and it’s pretty low on the totem pole.  Coconut oil is high though which I like.  The conditioner has a super thick and creamy texture.  I was surprised how light (not weighed down) it left Mia’s hair considering how thick it is.  Definitely no greasiness here.  I love the way it smells…lightly tropical but not overwhelmingly so.  Because of the thickness, I’m glad they bottle is designed to be stored “up-side-down.”  The bottle fits well in your hand, too.

Wait…have you ever bought a conditioner based on how the bottle fit in your hand? <—Promotion Prompt
