Handmaiden Hashbrowns

I’ll admit. I was psyched was PJ chose food as his learning theme for summer. Two words: Edible Projects.  We’ve done some activities that fall more toward the academic side like read The History of Food (Major Inventions Through History) and Food Science (Cool Science) and learn about fractions. But mostly we’ll be getting our hands dirty. ...

Ready, Set, Summer!

The teacher gifts are made (and given). Awards were awarded. PJ received the Joshua Award for Leadership, an Excellence in Reading Comprehension Award, and a Fruit of the Spirit: Goodness Award. Celebratory homemade ice cream was made (and eaten). And songs/verses/poems were performed. Welcome to the first morning of summer vacation!

My Mother’s Day wish was pretty simple this year (note: I’ve given up on the breakfast in bed and/or clean house dream)–I just wanted an everbearing strawberry plant.  We have a fabulous strawberry patch this year but they’ll only bear fruit for a couple weeks at the beginning of June. I’d love strawberries all summer...
