Tri'd and Tired

Have you tri’d lately?  If not, you should really consider it.  I know, you’re thinking, “I’m not an athlete” or “I couldn’t finish that…I might drown.”  Well, I’m not an athlete in my eyes either and you could finish with the proper training.  Let me insert here, that I participate in sprint distance short triathlons.  There’s no official distance but the swim is usually around 500m, the bike between 10 and 20 miles, and a 5K (3.1 mile) run.  If you’re me, it’s a run/walk…and that’s ok.  See, you could do this.

Well I’m out of athletic hibernation and my triathlon competition participation season has started. Granted there is only one more planned for August and that will mark the end of the season 🙂  It’s not too late to start training either.  Technically, my training season started today, too.  If you’re in my area and want to come along for the ride (pun intended), I think that would be an excellent idea.

Just for the record, today we (one of my training buddies and myself) participated in the Cascade Lake Triathlon (500 m swim, 15 mile bike, 5k run).  My time was 2:04:55 the worst on record for me so far.  It’s ok because it was just meant to motivate us to train for this triathlon

You know you want to!  I’ve even started a conversation thread to help you connect with others who want to on our new Corkboard Community on the right side.  It was built using a cool widget from the BlogFrog.
