Ramblings and a snapshot

I apologize for the lack of posts with any depth lately.  I’ve been completely pre-occupied with Grafted Families.  Not only is our conference coming up (and fast), we are also pulling together an Ethiopian Host Program with America World Adoption Agency and God is flinging open other doors.  Although it’s been kind of fun running to keep up with God, it’s been CRAZY around here with little time for blogging.  I will say that He has totally provided breaks when we didn’t feel we could fit in another thing.  Enter a crazy rain storm that actually closed schools early and cancelled Patrick’s evening classes for which he hadn’t done homework.

Anyway, even though I really don’t have time, I wanted to capture some of the craziness on the blog so I can remember this season in life.

Enter a snapshot of today’s schedule…

5:00AM Alarm goes off so Patrick can get to the CPN conference on time where someone has graciously donated a Grafted Families table.

5:15AM Get up anyway even though my alarm doesn’t go off until 6:00AM because Patrick had to turn the light all the way on to get ready and now I’m awake.

5:30AM Laundry, catch up on emails

6:00AM Blog when I should be preparing for a photo class I’m teaching on …AHHHHH…Monday.

7:00-7:20AM Kids roll out. Frantically rush around to get breakfast, snacks, and lunch packed.

8:00AM Out the door for school.

8:30AM Get gas.  I’m pretty anal about this.  Sit in car and read until I can drop Ty off for Kids Connection at Bible Study.

9:30-11AM  Bible Study…I think this is the reason I got out of bed today.  Even if I’m not quite done my lesson.  Is 3 small groups doing 3 different books too much for one person?  What was I thinking?

11:00AM Grab Ty and drive back across town to pick up Mia.

12:00PM Lunch at home.  Wait?!?! I get to come today?  Sweet.

12:30-1:15PM Play with kids, catch up on email.  Maybe we’ll do our Spilt Milk paintings today.

1:15PM Nap for Ty.  Quiet time for Mia.  Work time for Mommy.  Maybe I’ll start some photo editing that I’m waaaaaay backed up on.

2:30PM Wake Ty. Leave to get PJ.

3:30PM Snack, homework, laundry, screen time.  This is the first day this week we didn’t have to hurry through snack and homework to get ready to leave again for an evening thing.

6:30PM I leave the kids with Mom to do GF Mom’s Night Out.

10:00PM Get home and wait for Patrick to get home from class to hear how his big day went.

11:00PM CRASH!!!

<<Total change in subject>>

Ty has made some big milestones lately.  He’s verbalizing that he loves us with out prompting.  His cognitive capacity has also skyrocketed. Turns out he’s a pretty nosey, bossy little boy.

Hope you’re head isn’t spinning like mine. Here’s too some more coherent posts in the near future!
