{Classical Conversations} Cycle 2 | Week 1

This is the year of simplification and getting back to basics.  We are making a more concerted effort to incorporate memory work review into our day and relying on great books. You can read about our routine by clicking here and detailed curriculum choices here.

Below you will find booklists for the week and this is a link to a OneNote notebook with all of the weekly lesson plans thus far.  The cool thing about using OneNote is that it will update dynamically as I add stuff and make changes.  For you visual folks, it will give you a snapshot of the entire week including a materials shopping list.

  • If you do not have a Microsoft account, you can use the following to sign in to the notebook
    Email: ClassicalConversations@mailinator.com
    Password: WeeklyPlans (Case Sensitive)
  • These activities are designed for my children who are ages 6 to 15.
  • Our CC day is Monday so my columns are labelled accordingly.  You will need to adjust as necessary for your schedule.
  • A CC Connected membership is required for many of the resources.
  • Activities marked with a “+” are for older children and/or Essentials students.
  • Each child is keeping a notebook that is preloaded with many resources and will collect their paperwork through the year.
  • For extra review, we find songs on CC Connected for every piece of memory work and play them while we drive around.
  • For extra resources, follow me on Pinterest.

I tried to log in as you suggested so I could view the notebook, but it wanted verification because as it said “It looks like someone else might be using your account.” I checked out your pinterest, found a couple of ideas and it made me hungry for more!

Sorry. I’m having problems with the email. Try ccplans@outlook.com with the same password.

Thanks so much for responding. It looks like you would need to sign up for acct. I think I will just print your document out each week and make a note in our schedule to check what you have planned. Love all the ideas!!

Thank you for the excellent resource! I do not know a lot about the program you used to upload your schedule. I was hoping to take what you created and add some of my own items. Do you know how I can do that with the program you are using? Doesn’t seem like I can download the document.

You may be able to start your own OneNote notebook and copy what I have to yours. then it would be editable. You would either need OneNote on your desktop or have your own Microsoft live account to access the web version. Let me know how it works.

Hi Melissa! What a great bunch of resources, and a creative way to present them! I always find that I am so behind the times when it comes to technology, but thanks to you I’ve actually attempted to use OneNote for the very first time. [I’m assuming that was OneNote… lol!]

I love your plans! Thank you for sharing your hard work with us on the CC Cycle 2 Weekly Link-Up!

      It was indeed OneNote.

What a brilliant idea to use OneNote for your lesson plans! I use it for notes I take in my grad school classes, but had not thought of using it for CC. 😀 Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for your work. I am in the middle of planning our 4th year in CC. I have four kids, 3 foundations 1 essentials and one challenge A. I will be praying for your family as I plan for mine. May God give us the grace that only He can give.
    🙂 Blessings!

Loved these book ideas! thank you so much for sharing your research and “tech saviness” with those of us who are newer and less techno-sound!
