Foto Friday, Big Announcement, Input Needed, Etc. – Melissa Corkum

Foto Friday, Big Announcement, Input Needed, Etc.

Last weekend, in an attempt to make the most out of summer before school started, we…

20090904zoo_00-edit …fed a giraffe…

20090904zoo_03-edit …played ‘Monkey See, Monkey Do’ with a chimp…
(The kids were sticking out their tongues and the chimp was imitating. So fun!)

20090905roanoke_01-edit …witnessed an awesome rainbow…

20090905roanoke002-edit…took in some college soccer (in the rain)…

20090906williamsburg_16-edit…and caught up on some revolutionary history.

In other news (aka Big Announcement)…

We’re expecting our first tooth fairy visit.  (Gotcha.  I know the word “pregnant” just raced through your mind.)

PJ’s tooth is finally loose.

He announced more than a month ago that he had an extra tooth. I needed to see it to believe it but sure enough there was an adult, front, bottom tooth pushing it’s way to the surface behind the not-yet-loose baby tooth.  I remembered this from my childhood and told him not to worry and that meant the baby one would be loose soon enough.  Well, weeks went by and the second adult, front, bottom tooth made its appearance.  The both continued to grow until he had two complete sets of bottom front teeth.  The words “shark boy” actually escaped my mouth a couple times.  On Tuesday (also the first day of First Grade), I asked how the baby teeth were doing.  I was beginning to think his baby teeth might have to be extracted. 🙁  Lo and behold, one of the baby teeth is finally loose!

One down. One to go.

Input Needed…

I have the best hubby ever.  In a creative gesture to celebrate my Airplane Day*, he gifted me (and a friend of my choosing) with airplane tickets to anywhere in the continental U.S.  I’m a little overwhelmed and would welcome any suggestions about where I should visit for a weekend.

*Airplane Day=Day I arrived on an airplane from Korea.

Etc…

The kids got in the car yesterday and immediately smothered Ty in kisses asking him repeatedly if he missed them.  I made failed attempts to see how their days went (ya know, it being the first day and all).  They were too concerned with Ty and whether or not he missed them.  Just confirmation of a miraculous adjustment all around.

Sorry if you feel like you need a table of contents to navigate this post.  I’m finished now 🙂

I love visiting San Francisco. There's so much to do and see in the city, and dozens more places within an hour's drive. Enjoy your trip, wherever you go!
