Stepping out in faith

Have you ever felt like God was nudging you in a certain direction?  We have

Have you ever felt like going that certain direction was going to be risky (by the world’s view, at least)? We have.

Have you ever felt a strange peace about going down the risky path because you understand it’s where you’ll get to experience God’s faithfulness (maybe it’s not risky afterall)? We feel it now.

Patrick has always wanted to be his own boss and has been trying to leave his current employer for a couple years now.  Everytime he talked about leaving, they would make it financially beneficial for him to stay.  Well, his last day as an employee is tomorrow.

Yes, we are aware of the economy.

No, there’s no lucrative savings account to fall back on.

Yes, we have a plan.

No, there are no prospective clients yet.

Yes, it’s a little scary.

Why the big push to get away from full-time employment? Our vision is to have Patrick’s consulting work provide for us but, more importantly, for the profits to go directly into orphan care and adoption ministry–see Grafted Families.  He also needs to accelerate his Masters in Theology if he wants to graduate before his first credits expire.  Increased family time is also on the agenda.

We’d appreciate  covet your prayers as we embark on this journey.  Stay tuned.  We can’t wait to share how God shows up along the way.
