Foto Friday (with a Ty update)

20090417necklace I forgot to post this in an earlier post.  It kind of got lost in the shuffle digital photo cyberspace.  The amazing Love of My Life had the presence of mind to go out before we travelled and buy jewelry for me and the grandmothers.  This is what the grandmothers received.  It’s diamonds becuase that’s April’s birthstone (April is Ty’s Airplane Day month and has a better birthstone than December…I mean, what beats a diamond?).  I got a set with 2 diamonds (PJ and Ty) and 1 pearl (Mia).  Shhh, don’t tell, we’re returning it.  Neither one of us loves it so we’ll keep looking.  The jewelry thing become a tradition when Mia was born and Patrick got me pearl earrings with a diamond accent to symbolize the two kids.  It’s really ashame I don’t appreciate jewelry more but I am so impressed at his thoughtfulness everytime.

20090427tymess This is what my kitchen table often looks like as one of Ty’s favorite activities is emptying “his” cabinet.

20090427plants So summer came while we were in Seoul.  The plants in the way back were just seeds or seedlings when we left.

20090506ty001 I know this may not look like much, but it was a huge step for Ty.  I had changed the batteries earlier in this little ride-on…of course, it required a screwdriver.  Hours later, Ty found the toy screwdriver and tried to remove the green cover…just like Mommy!  It’s huge to see him processing his surroundings and finally coming out of his shell.

20090506ty002 One of Ty’s favorite activities is bath time.  He actually laughs when we pour water over his head.

While we’re on the subject of Ty, he is doing remarkably well with more of his personality immerging everyday.  He lights up when PJ or Mia walk into the room and always has a hug (especially for Mia).  Him and Mia are still working out their pecking order but, all in all, they’re doing quite well.  Ty is busy and I’m glad that outdoor weather is upon us.  His attention span is short and my house tells that story 🙂  He’s sleeping almost through the night with one wake-up around 4:30AM but he does go back to sleep thankfully.  We’re discovering more about his likes and dislikes when it comes to food, and he constantly wants to eat (having trouble getting him to take milk…of any kind though).  His favorites are waffles, cereal, Special K bars, yogurt, strawberries, meat, and rice.  He’s becoming more verbal but just sounds, not words.

We’re back into our normal crazy busy routine, and I’ve even trained 2 mornings this week.  We’re up for visitors if you excuse the toys that have replaced the normal walking paths through our house.
