I have 4 words for you…
I only wish I had figured out about these 3 months ago when the tomatoes were pouring in faster than the heat and humidity. When you taste one, your mouth screams, “Pair me with fresh tomato, basil, and tomato. And maybe some mozarella.”
And when you do (even if it’s the less-than-gardenfresh, gassed tomatoes from the grocery store), your mouth sighs in flavor bliss.
I’ll have to remember these next summer. Until then, I’m off to enjoy my crackers with grocery store tomatoes and dried basil.
Of course, now that I’ve raved about them, you’ll probably be dissappointed. So best to set your hopes low.
