Catch up

My cousin recently told me this hilarious story about how her childhood dog had hind legs that were faster than her front legs.  She described how she would take off running only to have her hind end slowly catch up to her front end creating a tangled mess that would inevitably send her tumbling only so she could scramble up and do it again.

That word picture kind of sums up how I’m feeling about life right now.  It’s not bad per se but it leaves little room for blogging which is ironic since there’s so much to blog about.

For instance, I came home from my annual girls’ weekend away to find I know have hardwood floors in my dining room.

Patrick commented tonight that he was surprised I hadn’t blogged about it yet. (I secretly thinks he just needs a bloggy pat on the back).  Quite frankly, I haven’t folded the last 3 loads of laundry, unpacked from this weekend, finished planning this week’s school lessons, or seen my dining room table in over a week let alone blog about all of those things.  In fact, there are 3 unwritten but titled drafts on my dashboard.  Add 3 scheduled photo shoots in the next 2 weeks, finishing our dossier, and hiring our first full time staff person for our non-profit and, well, you get the picture.  Life’s hind legs are starting to run faster than we can catch up.  Here’s to the weekend where we kind of stumble all over ourselves, untangle, and hit the ground running again on Monday!
