In my opinion, it’s the hardest test for one reason…
…breaking with a back punch. I had bruised and swollen knuckles for months after this test. We were praying she would break it with the first try, but she didn’t. It hurts way more when you don’t get through the board.
Then there was the second and third attempts. She got a short rest and came up front for her last hoorah. After it didn’t break for the fourth time, the Master Matt offered that she move to palm strike to save her knuckles. She ignored him. Fifth time was a charm! Sticking with back punch, she persevered and met her goal. Having been there, I know how much her knuckles hurt and how much courage she needed to muster to hit that board each time knowing it was going to cause pain. She even held it together and did her 25 push ups, on knuckles, on top of her breaking board. Talk about one proud mama!
