If you were an adult trapped in a 6-year-old body…
- You might read the Bible (a Revised Standard Version to boot) to dispel your fears before you go to bed. When your mom made you put it away because she was cranky and tired and wanted you to go to sleep and did not know why you were insisting on reading your Bible at 9PM, you would quietly obey with tears in your eyes.
- It would not be uncommon to hear you reading books to your little sister or trying to engage your little brother in a game or toy. You might try to console your little brother by offering to help write an email to his Pops.
- You would check your email and the weather often.
- You would only accept apple juice that had 25 % less sugar because you knew that was healthier.
- You would often have more patience than most other adults with young kids.
- You would request to not just give your unused toys away to anyone but to someone with whom you could foster a relationship. Because it’s “better that way.”
- When asked the question, “What should we tell the high school students to do to help care for orphans?”, you would respond after a moment’s hesitation, “They could babysit for the kids so the [adoptive] parents could have a break.” Genius.
