Day 207

Spring is in the air!  I feel like I’m still waiting for winter to come. Alternative title: The Calm Before the Storm.  Let’s just say if we all go fishing again, there are some lessons to be learned from this experience that hopefully help us avoid a scene that includes having to bodily carry a […]

Day 206

This was our 10th year at the Amish Mud Sales in PA.  We’ve seen all sorts of weather and added 5 kids to the brood since we first started going.  We didn’t last as long at the actual sale due to Patrick’s back.  The local petting zoo proved rather cathartic after a major meltdown. In other news, […]

Day 205

The fun thing about having a 15 passenger van is that there is always for friends.  Since our Friday friends are also part of our CC Community, we made mini-bows together.  The shot Q-tip arrows and were really fun!

Christmas Greetings 2012

My favorite part of Christmas (besides the whole part where it celebrates how much our God loves us) is getting updated pictures and stories from friends and families.  I’ve attempted to be creative with our cards for the last 10 years, but alas it’s time consuming and expensive!  With 4 adoptions in less than that […]

Typical Thursday

Ever wonder what our day looks like?  I’ll probably be curious in 10 years so what better than to memorialize one here? Our week starts off with a bang since we have CC and marathon Tae Kwon Do on Mondays.  In a non-interrupted week, we work hard Tuesday and Wednesday, try to fit in something […]

When your kids make you proud

Mia tested for her green belt last month. In my opinion, it’s the hardest test for one reason… …breaking with a back punch. I had bruised and swollen knuckles for months after this test. We were praying she would break it with the first try, but she didn’t. It hurts way more when you don’t […]

A Day of Firsts: Big E Photo Dump

It is so much fun re-experiencing so many things through the eyes of non-American-raised teenagers.  Our day at the Big E was definitely a day of “firsts.” First kid to reach double digit push ups (unassissted). First time milking a goat (or any animal for that matter). First donuts…hot out of the oil. First encounter […]

Sailibration!

I know this is almost 2 months over due.  So goes life. Baltimore recently celebrated the bicentennial of our victory over Britain in the Battle of Baltimore during the War of 1812. We started with a private tour of the Indonesian tall ship, Dewaruci. We learned about the port-entry traditions (dancing on the sails), the […]
